Washington, DC Toastmasters: Dupont Speaks Toastmasters Club -- Dupont Circle

Dupont Speaks
is
a culturally, professionally diverse Toastmasters club in Washington, DC. We are a lunchtime club that meets in the Dupont Circle area.

Our guiding principle is that we all have fun as we travel on the road to better public speaking. That's why each meeting is filled with laughter and applause as well as thoughtful, earnest speech presentations, evaluations, and support.

You can try out Toastmasters by visiting Dupont Speaks. We meet at One Dupont Circle (the location of the National Center for Higher Education) on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 pm.

To arrange a visit, e-mail our Secretary, Mishri Someshwar at .

About Our Club

For the club's performance over the past year, we have earned Select Distinguished Club status from Toastmasters International. We are proud of this record and our activities over the past 12 years. We are even prouder of the accomplishments our members have made in their professions and communities as a result of greater confidence in public speaking.

How Toastmasters Works:

Every Toastmaster was once where you are - wondering if joining a Toastmasters club is the way to raise public speaking skill and confidence to a higher level. Don’t worry! The environment is friendly, supportive, and risk-free. You set your own pace and the club is there to support and encourage you. You'll build confidence with each speaking assignment.

Constructive evaluation is the heart of the Toastmasters program. Each time you give a prepared speech, an evaluator will point out strengths and suggest improvements. At first you’ll be applauded for your effort; later you’ll be applauded for your skill. You'll realize you also have useful advice for other club members on the same trek.

Questions?
E-mail our Secretary, Mishri Someshwar at .

As we meet at lunchtime, please feel free to bring your lunch. We are committed to making each meeting a rewarding, learning experience for all who attend.
